Chimney sweeping techniques, regulations & standards

 

For both safety and economy reasons chimneys should be

                 swept regularly. For peace of mind always use a NACS 

                 member. All members are fully experienced and work to 

                 the NACS Code of Practice. Chimney certificates are

                 also issued.

By law in England and Wales the installation or replacement of a

                            solid fuel, wood and biomass combustion appliace (including a

                            fireplace) is subject to Building Regulations.  The owner of the
                   dwelling must either (i) obtain Building Control Approval from the
                   local authority or (ii) have the work carried out by a registant of an
                   approved Competent Person Scheme.  HETAS is the only scheme
                   specialising in solid fuel, wood and biomass.

               Gas Safe Register is the official stamp for gas safety.  Make sure

               the person carrying out your gas work is registered.  Always ask to
